Are there any costs or fees to enroll with Mollo Management?

The answer to this is an emphatic “NO”. It should always be your first question when determining whether or not a company is legitimate. There are some companies that charge money for classes, pictures or “showcases”. The cost of their services are often very over-priced.  We are not one of those companies. The cost of traveling to and from Manhattan for auditions will be your primary expense.

Who is eligible for representation by Mollo Management?

Mollo Management, Inc. is a New York-based company.  Only actors currently living in the tri-state area need apply.

How does Mollo Management get paid?

Upon booking a job, agents and managers receive a commission from your earnings. Agents take 10% commission for legit work (i.e. television, film and commercials). Our fee is 15%. Commission for print work (modeling) varies from job to job.

Is Mollo Management an agency?

No. We are a management company. There is a difference. If you choose to sign exclusively with an agency, you are not allowed to receive auditions from other agencies. When you sign with a manager, you work with all of the agencies through the management company, therefore increasing your number of auditions. And that is the key to finding work.

How do I get started?

Over 3 years old – Send us a snapshot. Professional pictures are not required. However, we do prefer a color picture in which we can see the face clearly. *On the back of the picture* write the name, date of birth, and a phone number where you can be reached - including work phone, cell phone or pager. We will contact you for an interview if we are interested. Please do not call to see if we received the pictures and please DO NOT email them. Only pictures received through the US mail will be considered.

Under 3 years old – Send a crisp color snapshot (please no computer print-outs)  *On the back of the picture* write the name, date of birth, and a phone number where you can be reached - including work phone, cell phone or pager. You must also provide us with the child’s recent measurements – including height, weight, and clothing size. Please let us know when the child begins to crawl, sit, walk, etc.  IMPORTANT: You must update this photo and information every 6 months regardless of whether or not you hear from us.

*Include a self-addressed stamped envelope with all submissions*

How long will it take until I hear from Mollo Management, Inc.?

Interviews to meet with new clients (age 3 and older) are scheduled every 4-6 months.  Please be patient.

How do I know whether or not my submission was received?

If you would like confirmation of receipt, include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Do I need professional pictures?

Professional pictures are not required for commercials and modeling, but are strongly recommended. In order to be submitted for film and television projects - 8x10 headshots are required for actors 4 years old and above. We can recommend reputable photographers in your price range, but the cost is your responsibility. We do not receive a monetary kickback from photographers for our referrals.

Will I require training?

We do recommend teenagers and young adults study acting.  It is a good way to hone your skills and increase your potential.  It is not necessary for young children to take acting lessons. However, if a child does take a class to prepare them for interviews, it won't hurt.

Must I sign a contract with Mollo Management, Inc.?

Yes. We work exclusively with all of our clients. We do not allow anyone we represent to work with other companies without our permission. We do make some exceptions but you MUST notify us first of the circumstances so that we may determine the terms. If you do not comply with this condition, you will be eliminated from our roster.

Should I join the Actors Union?

The 2 primary unions we recommend to our experienced clients are the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). In both cases, we do not recommend you join until you are required to do so (SAG - after two union jobs; AFTRA - after one union job). While the goal of every actor is to eventually work on only union-affiliated jobs, it is not necessary if you are relatively new to the business. Since the cost of membership is high, (approximately $1,500 for each union) it is better to have worked enough so that your income covers at least the initial fees.

What is the difference between Union and Non-Union work?

Union-affiliated work has pre-determined rates and regulations. Non-Union work rates vary.

For example: SAG commercials pay a session fee of $535 for a 9-hour principal workday. Only principal players are paid residuals for the commercial. The potential for making earnings into the thousands of dollars is often very good.

Non-Union commercials pay one flat session rate with no residuals. Non-Union jobs provide invaluable experience, therefore we recommend these jobs to non-union affiliated clients.
